The Basics
This densely branched, pyramidal evergreen shrub has emerald green foliage all year. It grows into a geometrical cone-shape with a height of 12-15 feet(3-4 feet wide), and is considered a tree as well as a shrub. Ideally used as a decorative accent, and wind or privacy screen. The Needs Amount of Sunlight: Full sun to partial shade Amount of Water: Water once per day during first year of growth; Once mature water occasionally Soil Conditions: Adaptable to a wide range of soil conditions. Prefers well-drained soil Cold Hardiness Zone: 2-7 The Care This adaptable and easy to grow plant needs a regular water schedule to ensure the growth of a mature root system. The first year of growth requires watering at least once per day. After the mature root system is established, watering is needed occasionally, except during a drought, watering is needed regularly. Pruning is not necessary. Dead branches under the tree need to be removed. |
